Trust infrastructure for digital media

Our mission is to make content verifiable, on the web and offline. We establish trust through transparency: by binding provenance, rights, and title metadata to the content itself, in a machine-readable form, so creators and rightsholders can prove origin and authorship, and anyone can check it. The result is content that can be trusted.

This builds on the ISCC (ISO 24138:2024). Selected rights and metadata are externalised and bound to a content fingerprint derived from the media – a soft-binding approach, so provenance and rights stay resolvable and tamper-evident even when embedded metadata or watermarks are removed from the file.

With over two decades of experience, our team works with creators and media organisations across Europe and beyond on content authentication, digital distribution, licensing, and metadata management.

Liccium played a central role in developing the International Standard Content Code (ISCC, ISO 24138), with Sebastian Posth as co-initiator of the ISCC and convenor of the ISO working group behind the standard.

Our federated registry infrastructure lets users, platforms, and AI providers resolve rights and metadata and verify content authenticity – supporting compliance with the EU AI Act, the Digital Services Act, and the CDSM Copyright Directive. A search engine for verifiable content declarations (coming soon) will provide provenance and rights lookup for declared content.
